What is Luminex xMAP?
Luminex xMAP technology is a bead-based, laser-detection multiplex immunoassay platform that allows simultaneous detection of multiple phatogens in a single small volume sample.
How does Luminex xMAP work?
xMAP technology uses internally dye-labeled microspheres (beads) that enable simultaneous detection of multiple phatogens within a single reaction. Because the beads are suspended in solution, the assay exhibits near solution-phase kinetics, improving binding efficiency compared to solid-phase assays.
During analysis, individual beads are measured by the instrument. A red laser excites the internal dyes to identify and distinguish the bead set, while a green laser excites the fluorescent reporter dye to determine the result of the assay
Key Advantages of xMAP Technology:
-
True High-Level Multiplexing
-
Save time, labour and reagents.
-
High statistical robustness
-
Small sample volume requirement
